Check out the the beauty products we are currently using and loving right now.

Derma MD Clarifying Wasabi 3 Step Acne Kit
I’ve been using the Wasabi system for the past few weeks and it is wonderful! It’s not harsh or drying on the skin, and all of the products feel refreshing and invigorating while fighting acne. It works! Plus the Wasabi Resurfacing Anti-Acne Pads are perfect for travel.

Bonne Mere Honey Shower Gel by L’Occitane
Just thinking about it makes me smile. This is my new favorite shower gel. It smells so beautiful and sensual, plus it is oh so moisturizing and gentle. I’ve tried many a shower gel, and this is number one on my list.

Derma MD Last Step Daytime Moisturizer
SPF moisturizers are not my fave, but a must have. I typically don’t find ones I fancy, however I have found a rival for Dermalogica’s Solar Defense Booster. The Derma MD SPF 50 is an awesome, oil-free and silky daytime moisturizer. No white residue, melts right into the skin and fragrance-free? Score!

Jane Iredale Jelly Jar Gel Eyeliner
Recently, I brought back my signature–a la 9th grade–winged liner look. I honestly feel like I nailed  it better back then than I do now. Oh well, this is a great gel liner for sensitive eyes.  It’s creamy, glides on smooth and easy to wing out with its angle brush. Did I mention it is also vegan and cruelty-free?  You can buy this and other Juice Beauty products at Pharmaca.com.

Workout Wednesday: Get Your GROOV3 On

September 10, 2014

montalbontheatre

On Saturday AM, I dragged my behind out of bed and headed to Blackbird Dance Company to try out the GROOV3 dance fitness class. I have to admit as a former dancer in my younger years, I was a little nervous that I would be rusty and dusty. And in fact, I was, but it was so much fun, so freeing and I felt like I got my groove back.

It was a moderate sized class taught by Donisha Brown, and the girl can MOVE! She made the class so fun, and her teaching style made learning the choreography less intimidating. I was amazed at how easily I got back into the swing of it. With such an open and welcoming environment, it forced me to be in the moment and move how I want to move in a no judgement zone. Their focus is putting the fun back into fitness while building communities, and the class seems to do just that.

And don’t think I got away with just dancing in this class, Donisha includes high-intensity cardio and strengthening intervals for toning. You will sweat!  Also check out the Monday evening class on the rooftop at the Montalbán Theater through September. It’s like a euphoric dance party minus the shots and a bad hangover the next day.

GROOV3 is taught in studios and spaces all over the city with a live DJ. Check out the full schedule on Groov3.com. Try out a class and share your experience with us!
