There is something about wearing natural materials that makes your look feel a little more luxe. Whether you’re bundled up in fur or sporting some warm wool, having a naturally inspired garment can instantly amp up the luxury factor of your outfit. Especially when it comes to wintertime, there is perhaps no better season for calling upon the cozy confines of a natural fabric to keep you from freezing.

There are all kinds of natural fabrics (and faux alternatives) for the winter season that not only serve a functional purpose but also add a dash of fashion to the mix. Because why bother wearing something if it doesn’t look good? We gathered some of the best natural garments to sprinkle into your winter wardrobe if you are ready to luxe it up and stay toasty.

  1. Fur Vest

Vests are a great way to preserve your body heat without the hassle of a big, bulky jacket. For a stylish upgrade on a traditional vest, a fur vest is definitely the way to go. There are plenty of ways to rock a fur vest, so we like to go through one slideshow from Style Bistro for some fresh styling ideas. One of our favorite things about fur vests is that they act as neutrals and are very versatile.

  1. Wool Coat

A wool coat is a winter staple, but here in LA, it might not seem as necessary as it is in, say, Canada. However, don’t let the weather deter you from adding this super luxe item to your closet! We found a men’s half-sleeved wool overcoat at this LA-based brand’s page on Lyst that cuts back on the warmth a bit and brings the heat in terms of style. It’s the perfect in-between piece.

  1. Leather Moto Jacket

Does anything look cooler than a sleek, black leather jacket? We’re going to vote ‘no.’ There’s just something so inherently cool about leather moto jackets that makes this article an absolute must for anyone wanting to up their fashion game.

  1. Shearling

The final natural material we’re spotlighting is the hippie-chic shearling coat (or vest). Shearling has made a recent fashion comeback from its heyday back in the ’60s and ’70s, and designers are offering all kinds of modern twists on the classic favorite. Plenty of variations on the trend are highlighted by a Huffington Post article, where you’re sure to find a look that fits your personal style.

Remember, if you’re not a fan of wearing the real thing, there are plenty of faux options that provide the same amount of style. Whether or not the faux options will be as warm as the real materials is a toss-up, so be sure to test out your alternatives to make sure they meet your winter needs. All you need is a garment that looks like the natural material to create a vision of luxury—whether or not that material is the real deal is entirely up to you.
