Mirror Mirror on the wall, please make me fabulous this Fall! – Tara checks out MAC’s Venemous Villiainas Collection

October 25, 2010

While the kids are dressing up in their Tinkerbelle costumes, I’ve decided to be deviously fabulous this Halloween. Just in time for Fall, MAC Cosmetics has just launched their Venomous Villains collection. 4 separate mini makeup collections inspired by Disney’s favorite Villains.

The collection includes pieces inspired by; Snow White’s Evil Queen, 101 Dalmatian’s Cruella De Vil, Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent and Dr. Facilier from the Princess and the Frog. The color palettes are rich and striking. There is nothing like the dramatic look of dark eyes, high cheek bones and a deep red lip, to glam up a night on the town.

I am already a fan of a deep red nail polish called Bad Fairy Red and a navy and green eye shadow named She Who Dares. Plus who can pass up owning a compact mirror perfectly coined, I’m So Vain.

Being bad never felt so good!

Checking out for the week!

October 24, 2010

Hey lovelies!

I'm in NYC for the week working on a film (still stoking the acting career when I can!) and I'll be out of the beauty loop until I return in one week.

Have a great week and stay groomed!

XO Emily

The post-pregnancy body…YIKES! Where to begin? Let’s start with Stretch Mark removal – laser stylie

October 18, 2010

Luckily the one thing I was spared during my two pregnancies is/was stretch marks.

Ok, maybe if I look reaallly closely I can see a few on my hips but those are most likely from a teen-hood growth spurt as is oft the case and they aren't at all bothersome.

But this isn't always the case.

Weight loss after pregnancy can turn those once super-volume-mega nursing boobs into a road map of silver and white lines once they've deflated.  I've had a ton of moms reach out to me, desperate for a solution to this unavoidable post-pregnancy skin contraction yick.  It's pretty basic, the skin stretches, rips in fact and little scars form – but you don't see them until you've lost the weight and the skin is all loosey-goosey.  This discovery can be devastating to a mom just finding her post-baby body again and without surgery to remove the skin, mom's are frantic for a solution so they can get back in a bikini without star-bursts poking out from every angle.  What. To. Do. ??

Creams. Gels. Silicone strips.

Whatevs.  Does any of it really work?

I found this video today about lasers for removing stretch marks and it actually looks pretty good!

Wondering if anyone out there has tried this.

If so, drop us a line and let us know how it worked for you.
