Phototherapy has been proven to create energy, stimulate cellular repair,  improve sleep, counteract stress and rejuvenate the body.  In groundbreaking health and wellness news, NASA, NIH, U.S. and international researchers in the burgeoning field of Biophotonics agree that light is a nutrient that is vital to human well being and rejuvenation.

DreamSpa™, the first systemic phototherapy device to hit the market, is now being launched in the U.S. and Canada by Light Health Research in Deerfield, IL.

NASA is implementing the same technology on the International Space Station at a cost of $11.2 million as a solution to astronaut insomnia.  The agency hopes that this will serve as a counter-measure to the inevitable disruption of the body's circadian rhythms while in space.

DreamSpa uses Biophotonics to stimulate energy production, and cellular repair and regeneration thus recharging the body and rebooting the brain. It makes daily energy renewal as easy as taking a shower or brushing your teeth.

DreamSpa is a comprehensive and natural remedy to the deleterious effects of aging and stress including:

Low energy

Fatigue

Poor sleep

Stress

Moodiness

Brain fog

Aches & Pains

 Fine lines

Wrinkles

Hair loss

DreamSpa is only available for purchase athttp://www.lighthealthresearch.com/, and in the LA area, you can visit the offices of Dr. Galitzer for individual treatments.

The technological advances used to create DreamSpa are based on more than 30 years of study by NASA, NIH, top universities and research centers around the world in the fields of Biophotonics, Bioenergetics, Tissue Optics, Cellular Communication, Phototherapy, Stress Management and Anti-Aging.

How DreamSpa Works:

This professional-grade system offers five proprietary LED light programs that profoundly increase energy, decrease stress and reverse aging.  The photons or particles of light produced by DreamSpa are absorbed through the skin and acupuncture points and are then conducted throughout the body by the connective tissue.  The DreamSpa System delivers bio-active light that transforms into life-force energy on a cellular level, promoting and stimulating the following:

-Energy (ATP) production

(ATP = Adenosine Triphosphate, a nucleotide found in the mitochondria of all animal and plant cells that is the major source of energy for cellular reactions)

-Increased blood flow

-Enhanced oxygen and nutrient delivery

-Cellular repair and regeneration

-Collagen production

This is the science behind the DreamSpa system, a safe, non-invasive and natural form of improved health and anti-aging. LED phototherapy is considered safe for home use by the FDA.  Unlike laser treatments that generate heat and are restricted to use by licensed professional technicians, LED treatments are painless, non-invasive and safe for all ages and skin types.

As of August 2013, the DreamSpa is being launched across the U.S. and Canada.  For more information, visit www.lighthealthresearch.com/.

Young girls get creative & interactive with the Disney Princess Royal Salon iOS app

August 15, 2013

Feminist moms beware: You can run, you can hide, but if you have a daughter, the Princess Principal will catch up with you. They're everywhere and they're not going away so don't try to fight it.  You will lose.

I have taken a different route. I have embraced all things princess and explain to my daughter that princesses are no better than the rest of us.  In fact, I have some real live princess and countess girlfriends  and when I point them out to Aria (7) she says "but they don't look like princesses?"  That's because they are just real girls like you and me.  I then explain that the stories about them are just that, stories and fantasy and play. "Ohhhh!!"

That being said, at 7, Aria is slowly phasing out of princesses and into Barbie, however, she is deep into playing "dress up" with her dolls and stickers. Daily, I find her on my laptop on the  My Studio Girl  website (based on the Taggles stickers).  I can see how dressing characters helps her make sense of various identities, makes her feel in control, and empowers her own sense of self.  In no way does tickle my feminist funny bone in the wrong way.

Imagine how excited she was to try out the new Disney Princess Royal Salon iOS app ($4.99 in the iTunes Store) where with the swish of a finger she gets to decide what Belle, Cinderella, Ariel & Rapunzel will wear before heading off to a very royal event.

It's up to Aria to decide all details of the girls’ hair color, style, outfits.  It allows her to get super creative mixing, matching and making choices as she pieces together the perfect enchanting combination. There is a wholesomeness about these Disney dames that I really appreciate. After all, there wearing ball gowns and gloves and not skimpy, slutty clothes. The possibilities are endless and her creations can be saved and shared to the app’s scrapbook.

Right now I was only able to download the app on my iPhone as my iPad is first generation and it's not compatible. The only drawback is that I literally cannot get Aria off my cell.  Other than that, it's provided hours of creative play and that makes this mama super happy. After all, school doesn't start until Sept 9th!!!

Nope, this mom is super psyched to spread the word about the opening of its first store in Orange County, at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa on Saturday, July 27 at 10:00 AM.

Not to mention my 7 year old lost her mind over this backack  ON SALE FOR $71!

Customers are invited to be one of the first 250 to visit the store on opening day for a free gift and a chance to win one of four $250 gift cards.

To celebrate, PBteen has D.J. Dos-A spinning live in the store for customer enjoyment on opening day.  I am loving the PBteen fall collection, and almost more excited then my daughter is about back-to-school shopping for backpacks and goodies.

The store will be anchored around a complimentary PBteen Design Lab, where teens and their parents can engage with the brand and its products by digitally creating a personalized room on a computer monitor. Using drag and drop technology, teens can experiment with different room configurations and color combinations and quickly see their designs come to life on a television screen overhead.

When teens and their parents visit the new PBteen store, they can expect a customizable shopping experience. Behind B & B

I’m Cindy Phillips Skanderup – the designer and creator of Bliss & Bone. After working with companies like Tracy Reese and Ralph Lauren in Manhattan, I soon made a career switch to art direction, advertising and design, as well as a move to Los Angeles where I launched a design firm, C-Arte, out of my bedroom with clients like Nike, Sony, Vans, Skechers and La Mer Collections. No one had to know that I was working in my pajamas.

In August 2009 I met Carl at a dinner party that he was not invited to, and married him three years later. Bliss & Bone is our first non-canine baby. Carl is the logic to my imagination and the man behind the curtain. He checks and double checks my work. Then he checks it again to make sure that everything is perfect. He’s the finishing touch.

We live in the Hollywood Hills. I wake up every morning and make raw oatmeal and coffee before doing anything else. My parents are from Mexico and I’m fluent in Spanish. I love the highest heels and the shortest skirts, but most of the time I wear Lululemon. We have a dog, Cobe, who will speak one day very soon. I’m convinced. I love weddings. I love the entire process, from inception to invitation to the event itself. I want to get married over and over and over again (to Carl of course).

But seriously, enjoy it. All of it. The Impression Starts Now.
