Los Angeles’ Modern Wellness Club
Aims to Revolutionize Your Mind & Body
UEvolution doesn’t only talk the talk; the company walks the
walks. No other modern wellness club has the resources and staff with abilities
to transform minds and bodies on an emotional, physical, or mental level like UEvolution
does, which is why it is considered “the place to be” by many Angelenos. This
accomplishment is due to CEO and Founder Pascale Rothman, who has overcome major
obstacles and transformed her life. Because fitness and exercise helped her
through some of the roughest times in her life, Pascale designed UEvolution to
do the very same for others.
Born in Paris, France in 1975, Pascale was abandoned by her
mother and forced to live with an abusive father who mistreated her in the most
inhumane ways. At 15 she was sold to another man for cash, before her aunt,
Natalie Colombani, came to her rescue and took her in. Pascale will not
hesitate to share that her aunt “saved her life.” Claiming to have done nothing
“extraordinary,” her aunt did just that, working to make Pascale feel as though
she were part of the family and constantly reinforcing the fact that “she was
worthwhile and as good as anyone else.” Natalie not only saved Pascale, but she
served as a role model for who Pascale would eventually become.
Around the age of 20, Pascale moved to the United States to
reunite with her mother, who turned out to be no better than her father. Along
with her step father, she treated Pascale, who was working to obtain a green
card, like a slave. Anyone who has tried to get a green card will know how much of a nightmare the H1B processing time can be. Says Pascale, “I worked all kinds of odd jobs and was
assaulted almost every night. It was hard, but I never lost hope. I knew I was
going to make it.” Four long years later, Pascale broke free from her abusers.
With a green card and
newly brandished English skills, Pascale began working her way up the
employment ladder. She worked and studied “damn hard,” eventually becoming an analyst
at a top financial firm. After establishing her career, Pascale saw an opportunity
to create a gym that transformed your mind and body— the emotional along with
the physical. While building UEvolution’s core values, Pascale borrowed from everything
she had learned over her life from finding the strength to overcome, working
hard to succeed, and understanding that sometimes people need a helping hand.
The UEvolution club
feels luxurious and sleek, but the warmth and encouragement from the staff, and
the behavior modification and accountability programs are what Pascale feels
differentiate the club from others. With the personal knowledge that the path
to success sometimes requires a bit of help, Pascale has built what she
believes is a place that will meet needs of the mind and body.
UEvolution’s programs involve aspects of mood-based training
in addition to a point system. An online tracking system, UEvo Apps, can be
used by members to record their daily activities and food consumption, along
with their moods in relation to them.
Exercise and fitness have been proven time and time again to elevate
moods while decreasing irritability, depression, and anxiety. The tracking
system also offers a unique rewards program which members can earn free
UEvolution products and services, credit to local businesses, and the
opportunity to make a charitable donation. The point system is based on the
number of times a member visits or completes a class or training session.
“We help people create
new behaviors. It’s not about taking things away; it’s about adding to your
life,” Pascale, who knows from personal experience, says.
