Last week, GLA was invited to landmark hotel, The Langham Huntington for a luxurious, overnight stay to check out the grounds. And there is more to it than elegant ballrooms and a venue fit for a wedding or celebration. There are seriously not enough adjectives to describe this magical place.
What I loved most ? That although The Langham Huntington is a palatial property, there is a boutique quality to it. You feel like you are tucked away somewhere remote and beautiful. The suites are beautifully and tastefully decorated. I personally loved that the outlets were high enough to plug in my phone next to the bed without having to be a contortionist just to get a little juice.
Upon settling into my new digs, I was off to the new luxurious Chuan Spa where I received phenomenal Chuan Stone Therapy. A massage that uses hot and cold stones to balance the yin and yang, increase body circulation and assist immune function by removing waste products. Also great in assisting injury recovery and increase mental alertness. The Spa offers additional signature treatments inspired my Chinese medicine including massages, facials and body treatments, combined with cutting-edge skincare technology such as the HydraFacial MD and Mistral LHE. Chuan is the only hotel spa in California through June 2015 that features Mistral LHE delivering results of costly laser treatments minus the downtime, side effects, time investment and hefty price tag. My favorite part of the Spa experience was the ‘Dream Room,’ where post-massage I was taken to a warm, comforting water bed served with hot chamomile tea until I was whisked away for the next treatment.
Later that evening, GLA was invited to a delicious three-hour group dinner at The Royce, a superb steakhouse lead by Chef de Cuisine, Perry Pollaci. The restaurant features the finest selection of USDA Prime Cuts, Australian Wagyu and authentic Japanese Kobe Beef, expertly prepared over a wood-fired grill with White Oak and seasonal wood. The menu also includes a selection of fresh, seasonal seafood and delectable desserts. There was nothing I didn’t love from spread. The Maine Lobster Bisque and Maple Brioche Bread Pudding are to die for.
Another exciting amenity at The Langham is The Tap Room–one of the best hotel bar/lounges I’ve encountered in quite some time. It is a stylish and inviting space featuring handcrafted cocktails, unique wine selection, premium artisanal beers on tap and upscale bar bites.
This is just a taste of what to expect at The Langham Huntington.
