“Coming from a working-class Latino family, I got my start in the spa industry like a lot of people with humble beginnings: wiping sweat off tanning beds at my local salon when I was in high school. But what started with a not-so-glamorous job led me to my professional calling. As a spa manager, I designed treatments for some of the largest day spas in California and ran a medical facility with the latest lasers, chemical peels, and injectable treatments. After becoming a spa owner, I traveled around the world to study everything from time-honored treatments to cutting-edge medspa technology.
