It’s been heating up the past couple weeks and, though I consider
myself hands-on in the kitchen, the last thing I want to do in 90 degree
weather is turn on the stove. And with bikini season here, forget pizza and
Chinese food. This month, I decided to order-in L.A. style.

RAWvolution

I heard Alicia Silverstone and Cher were fans of RAWvoulution, an
all-raw food-delivery service, so I decided to give it a try. After all,
Silverstone has boasted for years now about how adopting a “Kind” vegan diet is
responsible for everything from her glowing skin to a major boost in energy.
And Cher’s body is sick. How could I not give it a try?

I must admit, I was skeptical. Rawvolution boasts delicious, gourmet,
organic, vegan food conveniently delivered to your door. Organic and vegan?
Great. But delicious and gourmet? I don’t think so. I’m a serious carnivore, so
the idea of going RAW felt, how do I say this, somewhat… depressing. I prepared
myself for a bland week of celery and carrot sticks.

To my complete surprise, my “box” arrived and, it was the complete
opposite of bland. It was, in fact, both delicious and gourmet! My box
consisted of two soups, four entrees, four side dishes and two desserts. My
favorite dishes were the mediterranean tabouli, simple kale salad, mock tuna
salad, and especially the chocolate torte balls, made from almonds, coconut,
raw coconut nectar, cacao and olive oil. Everything was delish! And the best
part was it was 100% guilt-free.

I did have quite a bit of energy that week and not a blemish in sight.
Maybe Alicia’s onto something! As for my body? There was a definite
improvement, but, for now I’ll leave the sheer black bodysuits to Cher.
