You've be seeing a ton of posts from Groomed L.A.s brilliant contributing editors and not too many from moi lately as I've been outta commish. I recently had some very intense reconstructive surgery and I'm still in recovery mode. The brilliant, genius that is Dr. Leif Rogers performed his excellence on me in a complex operation that I needed as a result of bilateral hip replacement surgeries gone wild six years ago.
Twelve days post-op, I'm doing fantastically thanks to having found, after an intensive six year search, a surgeon whose excellence was not only in reconstruction, facile with the most advanced, cutting edge techniques to revise, contour and sculpt with subtlety and naturalness, but also an olymplian pro with eye for aesthetics.
Dr. Rogers is renowned for rebuilding and creating beautiful natural looking breasts from nothing for cancer survivors (one of the few specialists who perform the DIEP Flap procedure), wound closures and for having a fabulous eye/hand/skill for cosmetics and contours on all areas of the body. He's a surgeon with vision and I am more than amazed at what he was able to do with me. Not to mention, eternally grateful. His staff and entire team has been incredible in making me feel comfortable in every way (Robin, Jo, Kelly, they all excel at what they do), were wonderful when it came to dealing with daunting insurance paperwork, beyond helpful in tracking what my post-op recovery would be like and helped to facilitate the best after care ever (more on THAT later!). Post-op follow up has been phenomenal.
But wow, if doctor's are gods as they say, then one exists on Bedford Drive.

Dr. Leif Rogers obtained his medical degree at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed his clinical training in General and Plastic Surgery at Columbia University and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, respectively. He also completed a Cosmetic Fellowship at Lenox Hill and Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospitals, and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Rogers’ practice consists of an equal mix of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. Aesthetic procedures he specializes in include the latest techniques in facial aesthetics, facial rejuvenation, and body contouring. As a member of the trauma team, and the Cancer Center at the Huntington Hospital in Pasadena. Dr. Rogers performs advanced trauma reconstructions and has become known as one of the few surgeons that performs the DIEP flap post-breast cancer reconstruction.
Dr. Rogers is on the Board of Directors for the Afghanistan World Foundation and will lead a team to Afghanistan to train Afghan doctors in techniques that will help in emergency health services and reconstruction. These vital skills will help twenty first century Afghanistan overcome ongoing and new hardships.
