LA based lifestyle brand Splendid® is excited to announce the launch of their nationwide holiday book drive with Milk + Bookies to benefit local Boys & Girls Clubs, December 4, 2013 through January 3, 2014. In honor of the season of giving, families are encouraged to bring new or gently used books to Splendid® stores to donate to children without access to books of their own.

To celebrate the book drive launch, Splendid has partnered with Milk + Bookies to host two bedtime story times in December at their Montana Avenue and The Grove locations. Families are invited to come and enjoy bedtime stories, cocoa and cookies donated by Isabella’s Cookies and bring new or gently used books to donate to children who do not have books this holiday season. Book donations from both events will go to The Westside Family Clinic. In the spirit of the season, the 'Sandman' will also be there, reading stories that teach the importance of giving while families enjoy cocoa and treats. Come in your jammies!!

Milk + Bookies is a nationwide charitable organization that inspires children to give back, using books as its currency. The organization facilitates opportunities for children to raise book donations and give back to their peers who do not have access to books of their own. Splendid has long been a supporter of Milk + Bookies and is thrilled to help further their message.

SCRATCH teamed up with Emily Wagner, artist, designer, and Editor in Chief of LA’s hottest beauty/fitness/wellness blog Groomed L.A., to create a holiday nail wrap collection that is the perfect blend of classic and cutting edge.

An accomplished fine-artist, designer, and illustrator, Emily creates fabric and textile designs for home décor and apparel that can be found in shops including Rory Beca, Forever 21, and Ten Over Six.

Emily treats each piece of fabric as a painting, and follows the same process for creating textiles that goes into producing an art piece. Her process is an elaborate one of pushing and pulling, placing and removing of color, texture and composition until the right balance (or imbalance) is achieved.

Applying these same principles to this collaboration, Emily designed this collection to cover all of your wintry nail art dreams.
