If you've never come across a product from the gorgeously and uber-eco-consciously-packaged skin care line L'OCCITANE you must be, no offense, living in a bush.  This super high quality skin care line is so classic it's damn near iconic.

I've yet to be on a film or tv set where a bevy of  lip balm tubes aren't floating around the make-up trailer or in the make-up peeps fanny packs.  And how many of us have seen their soap in just about everyone's bathroom.  Or bought it as a can't-go-wrong gift.  And for me,  a day at The Grove doesn't smell nearly as sweet without a pop into their shop to sample the delectable Provence inspired fragrances.  Layer, layer, layer!

So you can imagine how excited I am to revisit the line now that I'm in the biz, so to speak.  Sometimes combing through the standards is a great way to redefine a brand for yourself.  You KNOW they make good stuff, so why not branch out?

I've had their hand cream, the classic SHEA BUTTER (and oddly, my sis-in-law Chelsea is also strangely addicted to it as well) in my purse for years.  It's uber-rich and divine and no other hand cream has been able to conquer my embarrassingly rough man-hands like L'OCCITANE's.  So what else have I been missing?

First of all, I've totally overlooked some rock-star things about the company in general. I'm talking about things that make you feel all warm and fuzzy about what you're using.

There's the that fact that they use sustainable and recyclable packaging, are PETA members and so obvi no animal testing.  Ahh…. And then there are the 150 plants used in the products, most often organic and hailing from the lands of Provence of the Mediterranean.

Founded in 1976 L'OCCITANE has nurtured simple values: authenticity, respect, sensoriality and continual improvement. This is more than a philosophy: it is a commitment that, over the years, has driven many concrete actions.  All of our actions and choices are guided by a twofold desire: to preserve and to pass on. It is this that gives our brand its life force, its meaning and its purpose.

And alas, the products I've overlooked!

I had no idea they have a whole line for sensitive skincare.  This line is made with products that have been formulated with no perfumes, colourants, alcohol or preservatives – perfect for skin that is prone to allergic reactions.   My skin in the winter is very sensitive as it dries out and loses moisture, so I will def look further into these offerings formulated with the protective properties of shea butter and the softening properties of organic cotton.

I am now getting way into the Immortelle infused Anti-Aging line.  This precious essential oil has anti-free radical and anti-wrinkle properties.  The scent and feel when I put it on makes me gaga.

(Or better yet, hellooo! The Ultimate Divine Skincare Collection for $270 really takes care of biz for you with eyes, extract and cream)

A divine serum, with the highest concentration of Immortelle and Myrtle essential oils, it'll deliver visibly younger-looking skin as the the fresh and velvety serum:

                  • Smoothes wrinkles, has a visible firming effect.
                  • Plumps up the skin, visibly improves its texture and appearance.
                  • The complexion looks fresh, radiant and luminous again.

This divine formula combines:

•Organic Immortelle essential oil formulated with micro-capsule delivery system to stimulate microcirculation, collagen synthesis, and protect against free radical

•Organic Myrtle essential oil to stimulate the action of the longevity protein to visibly preserve the skin's youthful appearance

•Hyaluronic acid for immediate plumping effect ( I actually take this as a supplement daily!)

•Vitamin C derivative and parsley to reduce visible dark spots and improve skin's texture and appearance

So you get the point:  Organic.  Pure.  Concentrated.  Nature at it's best.  Cruelty Free. Dermatologist tested.  Delivered to you in gorgeous eco-aware packaging from an Earth-conscious company.

Next time you're at The Grove pop into L'OCCITANE and get past the cute gift soaps and hand cream and dig a little deeper.  This sensitive-skin-care line is right up there with the biggies for your big skin concerns.
