NANO SPA BATH THERAPY AT LE SPA AT THE SOFITEL HOTEL

August 28, 2009

Here is a high end luxury treatment for those who are in serious need of a stress, spa vacation right here in town.

There are a few
places in Los Angeles for the ultimate luxury experience.

Le Spa at the Sofitel is now one of top players.

It’s warm, chocolaty brown, minimal, modern décor makes you feel like you are inside a giant Hershey’s Kiss.  You just melt.  Aesthetically, it's just plain old yummy.

I decided to go for something more unusual than the
average facial/body treatment.

I went for the NanoSpa IMMERSION THERAPY

An oxygenated tub that
changes colors -  light therapy! –  while you relax in the most beautiful bathtub you've even been in. The room itself is a chamber of relaxation.  You step
into this huge, exquisite tub where bubbling warm water shifts from red, to purple to pink to blue.  A disco bath with real therapy at work here!

NanoSpa removes pore-clogging debris, softens and hydrates your skin, and stokes your metabolism.

This feels like a
desperate times call for desperate measures treat.  Also makes a perfect for a
pre-wedding spa-day and even better, an amazing gift for someone.

It's totally different and it forces you to relax and just be with yourself.  There is a meditative aspect to it because it's not like you are zoned out on a treatment table with strong hands pulling the stress out of you.  You really have to be present with your thoughts while the water works its magic.   It's  a bit like a water-mediation.

I found that I really got a lot from simply sitting and soaking quietly with my thoughts for a half hour.  Sort of like a yoga class.  Except in a gorgeous multi-colored water bath!

The Spa menu feels geared toward guests in travel, focused on pampering, unwinding and de-stressing as opposed to say, getting a microdermabrasion, a peel and having your
face extracted like a land mine.

If you are looking for something really different and delicious, take a look into this.

Also, if you book a treatment, you get to hang out at the pool and use their high end gym facility.  A super insider secret for a great getaway day right here in town!  Take a Saturday and spend the day.  Go nuts, you deserve it!

If you're the type of person who likes to “shop until you drop” at the Beverly Center, then you should drop into LeSpa at the Sofitel Hotel across the street, where you can be reinvigorated at the hotel chain’s first North American luxury spa.

Although the new spa is completely integrated into the hotel, there’s a separate entrance off the valet lot (just $3.50 parking for spa-goers) for non-guests. Another nice touch is that the guest entrance does not go through the lobby, so shy people don’t have to walk by reception dressed in robes.

The 5,000 square foot spa’s emphasis on privacy is doubtlessly due to their desire to host celebrity clients. To further that goal, it contains two private spa suites that rent by the hour, which include private bathrooms with 21-showerhead steam showers, a Chromacolor bath tub featuring LED light therapy and a separate area for bodyguards. The spa even claims to schedule a maximum of two new guests per appointment time.

Spa visitors get access to the well-equipped SO Fit gym (which sports a small Buddha, smiling while holding hand weights), and the new outdoor hotel pool. The seasonal treatment menu ranges from $20 waxing services to $290 body wraps and facial treatments. Massages can be individually tailored to include hot stones and aromatherapy, featuring products by Decléor.

Make sure you arrive at your appointment early, so you can enjoy a steam shower and the futuristically furnished Serenity Lounge, where each client gets a tea service and a ritual heated-rock foot soak and foot massage before their treatment. The only thing more comforting than soaking your feet in a warm bath is having someone else dry them off for you.
