Frank’s Chop Shop, the premiere Lower East Side barbershop and voted #1 barbershop by New York Magazine in 2006, 2009, and 2012 just made its way to Los Angeles with a new outpost on Melrose. I brought a couple of dudes with me to the opening and they signed off with a “yah, this is cool” stamp of approval. Not to mention, amazing haircuts.

The 2000 sq. ft. shop offers a one-of-a kind experience for the distinguished “Modern Gentleman of Leisure” along with a selection of retail goods, men’s grooming products, photography and fine art from the likes of Futura 2000, Jonathan Mannion, Gregory Siff, Block Photo, Harif Guzman, Saber, Ruslan Karablin, David Flores, Craig Wetherby, Estevan Oriol, Akira Ruiz, Keisha Baptiste.
Like its east coast counterparts, patrons of Frank’s Chop Shop LA are in for a one-of a kind, high-end grooming and social experience unlike anywhere else in the world. The ambiance alone, an homage to the classic barbershop, and a feast for the senses, features vintage 1930’s barber chairs, a purple hot rod powerplant motorcycle in the foyer, lacquered black and white checkered floors, along with classically trained barbers who use straight razors, scissors as well as electric clippers. Patrons can also enjoy a cocktail or two in an exclusive lounge area or enjoy a game of pool in the billiard room in between cuts. Portions of the range of services include membership VIP packages, old-fashioned straight-edge razor shaves, along with haircuts and shapeups-perfect for any and every gentleman with a discerning taste.
