Camille Fields at Skin Addiks for a stem-cell-serum facial. Happy New Year!

hey peeps – so sorry, been a longggg time since I've posted! some major tech issues, switched over to new computer and blah blah before you know it i was gone missing for a month!! but i'm back! phew.

over the holidays i experienced a few new technicians of youth and beauty 🙂

first up to share with you is someone valley bound. for my valley gals looking for a little skin refresher, i've always sent them to talented Tina K. at Belle Visage with all her awesome lamprobes and whatnot – but i want to let you in on a little spot called skin addiks run by a lovely aesthetician names Camille Fields.  it's a simple little studio, not the full on med spa experience – but i had such a yummy facial, complete with very long lymph massage and an interesting bovine stem cell serum infusion it left my skin so glowing, i could not help but share.

Camille is skin savvy and been in the field for a long time. i do wish we had done more extensive extraction as i'm an extraction junkie – but that's just my preference. the added foot massage was divine. it was a non-aggressive facial, i'd call it 'lite' – no major layers of skin coming off or acid peels, but the formulas used did indeed give my skin a nice boost.

I can't even begin to tell you what an insane luxury it is to have a facial in your home.  I was skeptical of what a "home facial" would be like.  What about all the machines? The equipment?  When Juanita showed up at my apartment lugging three trips of salon-worthy-facial paraphernalia, I knew I was in good hands. (In high heels albeit, looking stunning and glam with the most perfect skin I have ever laid eyes on).

She set up shop in my bedroom while I sat sipping one of the homemade herbal tea concoctions she blended specifically for me.  She lit a candle.  She made my toddler toy strewn bedroom as zen slash spa-like as possible.  

Then came the facial. I am an extraction whore, and if you are too, then I have the skin pimp for you.  Juanita just don't quit.  She goes over and over your skin looking for any little thing that might be lurking.  Then it's on to mixing up her own creations for your specific skin type and totally customizing the facial from beginning to end.  

This is a serious treat. And at not-so-over-the-top prices.  It's so worth it not to have to get in my car and deal with LA life when I need to relax, clear my skin, clear my mind and get the gunk out of my face.

Check out her prices but really, it's all about the customizing.  And she left me with some bad-ass product too.  One in particular, a doozy of a  Hydroquinone, Retnic Acid, Kojoc Acid-mutha that has my skin renewing itself daily.  Wowza.

Here is a taste of some other things that are mixed in!

Exfoliating brush to remove dead surface cells… High frequency used for it’s germicidal, stimulating and soothing effects… Galvanic current is used for iontophoresis which helps with better absorption of product. This same current is used for disincrustation which helps product penetrate deeper and it liquefies sebum deposits in pores… Vaporizer for hydrating or preparing skin for pore cleansing…High frequency to cauterize and prevent infection or bacteria from forming.  An electric mask hydrates and softens the pores.  All the various equipment has variations of treatment depending on her goal.

Facial Crush!! Tina at BELLE VISAGE for the Dermafile and LamProbe in Studio City.

The other day I popped into Belle Visage Day/Medical Spa in Studio City for their new signature facial called the Dermafile facial.   No one else in LA is doing this treatment.

Belle Visage is co-owned by celeb facialist Tina Keshishian.  Tina's been Kirsten Dunst’s facialist since she was 12, and did such amazing work on her skin, that the actress’s mom, Inez, became Tina’s business partner.

Word.

The DERMAFILE FACIAL exfoliates the skin using a stainless steel hand piece with a crushed diamond Flat tip leaving skin looking and feeling smoother instantly.  Unlike Mircodermabrasion, this wider, flat head gets into every crack and wrinkle.  Sweet.

Tina is my new facial crush.  She's been doing skin since she was…16.  Yah.  A skin-o-phile.  My kind of lady.

This facial is awesome.  Tina's an extracting GODDESS.  She knows her shizzaz about all things skin.  Period.

And when she then went on to ZAP (called LamProbe) every pesky little red broken cappillary on my entire chest, neck and of course, face…well, I was in love.   This was truly a high point in my life.  I had no idea I could get rid of those freaky little red bubbles in less than, what, two minutes?  They have been multiplying like wild fire and totally freaking me out.  I still cannot believe they are gone!  Zapped into the ether, never to return!!  WTF?!

The LamProbe helps to remove those unsightly minor skin irregularities like whiteheads (milias), blackheads (comedones), fibromas(pigmented epidermal growths), broken capillaries, pimples, blood spots and skin tags that are prevalent on the neck and decollete area.  The LamProbe works on the principle of liquids being attracted to heat which is released by various probes.  Treatments are very quick (some within a few seconds), and may not even touch the skin’s surface. Small skin tags or blood spots disappear immediately and hyperpigmented areas such as liver or “age spots” take only a few seconds. There is minimal discomfort and healing time is short, from a day or two for skin tags to a few weeks for larger skin abnormalities such as fibromas.
