Pampered to perfection
June 4th 2011 12PM-6PM…Go Flawless Mobile Beauty celebrated it’s launch party by treating guests to some of LA’s best salon and spa services. Instead of running from one location to another, as if anyone has time these days, Go Flawless will bring it to you.
Gohar Abrahamyan, (Founder of Go Flawless) like many women, is a busy mom with a full time job. She understands there's very little time in our schedules for some much needed pampering. On June 4th Gohar launched Go Flawless Mobile Beauty by partnering with some of the best fashion, beauty and spa service companies to promote this fabulous new concept.
It was barely 12:15PM before our suite at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, lavishly decorated with flowers, and filled with delicious snacks, was alive with guests lining up to get glamorous. Go Flawless took a few years off everyone and made a few lines disappear with a little botox while others went right for a hair, make up and manicures provided by Style Bar Beverly Hills. “Pimp my lashes” …no problem with The Lash Factory on hand there no need to wait for 6 weeks with one of those lash serums. These ladies took lashes to the limit.
American Laser Skin Care offered a couple alternatives to refresh your skin with micro-derma abrasion and a mild glycolic peel. No one wanted to leave until they tested the massage “machine” from Modus Therapy.
While guests relaxed in between treatments there was a plethora of good eats and sweet treats from Scrumbtious Cakes and Pastries, and Sissy’s Whoopie Pies. They also had a chance to “shop for a cause” from great yoga wear by AZIAM to Smitten with Luxe, colorful glass bracelets to help raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Wow!
Future:Standard http://www.shopfuturestandard.com/ is here!
It's a new online women’s retailer providing shoppers with the first-ever ethically conscious online shopping experience! Launched in April 2011 by Jessica Althoff, Future:Standard offers fashion-forward products that are eco-friendly, fair-trade, locally made or in some way respecting the planet and those making the products.
This stylish online shopping destination follows a casual yet chic aesthetic, there is something for every woman! While, value and style are two things that are NEVER compromised at Future:Standard, the goal is to one day not have to describe products as fair-trade or sustainable, because that will be the standard. The eco-savvy online retailer currently houses brands such as: Alex and Ani, Alternative Apparel, April Star Davis, Ashley Watson, bleuFEATHER, Clary Sage, Covet, d a c e, Dogeared, ecoSkin, Erin Kleinberg, Groceries, Julie Park, Lena Bernard, LTR Brands, PACT, PI Organic, Pray For Mother Nature, Threads For Thought, Toggery, Topo Ranch, Vicarious By Nature and Yana K. The continuously growing roster and products will change seasonally.
As if Althoff’s environmentally/socially sustainable goal weren’t enough, the do-gooder brand is a member of 1% for the Planet, which is a global movement of companies donating at least 1% of their annual net revenues to environmental organizations worldwide.

Newly wedded couples only need so much china and probably wouldn't want more than one food processor, which is why gift registries were invented. As with so many other things, however, today's wedding registries have evolved with the Internet. Couples can now pour over their computer screens to select desired gifts, rather than roaming through multiple stores. Online bridal registries also allow couples to make more considered decisions and, perhaps, more unique choices. Forget toasters and linens, modern couples want gift cards, houses and an opportunity to help make our world a better place.
Read on for the most unique wedding registry websites now available, and how they're changing our gift-giving ways.
Now, if only I hadn't gotten married on La Cienega near the airport in a room with a judge and some strangers, maybe I coulda' cleaned up a bit. Instead, still working the ol' Ikea flat wear.
1. Honeymoon Registry
Prince William and Duchess Katherine postponed their honeymoon, perhaps because they spent all that money on the wedding, but you shouldn't have to. As with Card Avenue, HoneyFund.com allows you to ask for money without really asking for money. The site allows you to request cash for everything from airfare to a special breakfast.
2. Home Savings Registry
You'll never lay an egg with HatchMyHouse.com. The cash registry allows couples to put money towards a future home or perhaps just furniture and home improvements.
3. Gift Card Registry
Asking directly for money can be extremely uncomfortable and is frowned upon by Dear Abby and Emily Post. Happily, there's a new way around this delicate situation. CardAvenue.com allows couples to register for gift cards from select stores and let friends know about their choices via email. It's as simple as 1-2-3 and doesn't require a purchase or setup and transaction fees. Card Avenue also offers guests a resource for buying fully-priced or discount gift cards.
4. Donation Registries
More modern couples are shunning actual gifts and asking friends and family to donate to their favorite charities. Through the I DO Foundation, guests can donate directly to a couple's chosen charitable cause via a secure system. Charities are grouped into six focus areas including health, environment, social justice, community development, education and children, youth and families.
5. Lingerie Registry
If there ever was a gift designed for the groom, this is it. BedroomIsBoutique.com (pronounced "bedroom eyes boutique") carries trendy and classic "Just Married" pieces suitable for brides of every age and style. Brides (and grooms) can register online, but they'll have to tell their friends as there's no email-notification function on the site.
6. Wine Registry
Create a wish list at the popular WineEnthusiast.com and fill it with everything from stemware, corkscrews and accessories to selections from the The Wine Enthusiast Catalog's wine cellars. Most items are available gift wrapped. Wine Enthusiast also offers a toll-free number to assist gift givers.
7. Universal Registry
Why bother with multiple bridal registries when you can add all your favorite items from any store in the world to one massive list. MyRegistry.com also provides smartphone apps that allow couples to scan products for the best prices.
