Last year, this time, I was Dr. Talei getting my Profound treatment before heading to Ojai for a very private spa retreat at The Oaks Spa. That is what I call a perfect Thanksgiving week.
This year, I am home, cooking, sad but true. But this doesn’t stop me from taking full advantage of the down time to do a high impact treatment. Fall is the perfect time for a deep, restorative peel for obvious reasons. Fresh skin, no more beach, etc. I did my peel on Saturday – today is Wednesday. It’s a super easy, little down time peel. And the little down time is mild. On day three I peeled a little bit, today, day four, more dry skin peeling, but nothing major. I imagine I will be done peeling by Friday, day four. This is for sure the most mild peel I have had. I have had peels where I look like I fell out of an airplane – just full on raw, red skin and what looked like I might never heal. Major burns. This feels safe and I am free of that “holy shit, I’m scarred for life” anxiety. It’s hard to tell what my skin will look like, but for now things look clear and rosy.
