— On Mercado Sagrado —
Mercado Sagrado was founded in 2014, with the intention to bring together artists, makers, and community leaders who value conscious, earth-honoring practices, and provide them a physical space to connect with a larger community. The fair has expanded considerably in the five years since its inception, and now features a full weekend of programming curated by founder Heather Culp and produced in collaboration with Conscious City Guide—workshops, panels, participatory experiences, live music, an artisan marketplace, children’s activities, and food & beverage vendors who all exemplify the core ethos of Mercado Sagrado.
Held in the beautiful Malibu Canyon, Mercado Sagrado offers a family-friendly weekend of learning and experience for an ever-growing demographic of people who wish to find deeper community, embrace personal expansion and deepen their connection to the planet, purchase goods made with reverence, and engage in more joyful and sustainable practices across all facets of their lives. The fair has grown from 500 attendees in its first year to almost 5,000 in 2018—a tenfold increase in just five years—and the 2019 fair promises an abundance of new sights, sounds, and experiences for attendees.
