For mother’s day, why not get mom off the couch? Angela Parker shows you how.

Angela Parker 82
Angela Parker strikes a pose.

Aw. This is really sweet. Workout with mom. If me and my 76 year old Jewish yenta mother can hit up the gym together  – anyone can.  I do see a ton of mothers/daughters on walks, runs and taking classes together.  It's hard to distinguish WHO is mother and who is daughter in this town – but that only makes people watching all the more fun.

Santa-Monica based Fitness Expert, Angela Parker of Body Inspired Fitnesshttp://www.bodyinspiredfitness.com/  just launched an incredible, new, truly unique fitness program for Mother's Day to inspire Moms & Daughters to share healthy lifestyle goals and routines together!   CUTE!

Angela's all about:

  • inspiration, movtivation & accountability
  • she makes workouts fun
  • she's 'the real deal'
  • you don't need fancy equipment; you don't need fancy clothes
  • she shows your every person how to workout with items they have at home
  • For over ten years, her Santa Monica classes have had a 98% return rate for a reason – her plans work, her clients love her and she is always coming up with new fun ways to inspire & motivate her clients to committ to their fitness routines
  • Her classes are for people of all ages, fitness levels (she has teens up to seniors)

Especially in this day and age, young women now, more than ever, need their Mother's to be the role model in lead in teaching them about a healthy lifestyle.  I know I try this even with my 5 year old.  I never discuss body or food issues in front of her – EVER! And I make sure she knows that mommy's obsessive  need to workout is to stay strong, happy and fit!  The word THIN is never uttered.  Nor is DIET or any ounce of self-annihilation!

Angela has created a plan for moms and daughters to work out together.

Her 90-day, DOWNLOADABLE (how easy) program provides: photos, connection questions to learn about eachother, fitness pro nutrition tips, workouts for Moms only, workouts that are for Moms & Daughters to do together – and so much more!

JANE FONDA WORKOUT REDUX. GETTIN MY 80’S WORKOUT ON!

March 4, 2011

OK, I'm posting about this and I have YET to even pop it in my dvd player.

And I'll tell you why.  How about I do it in list form just for fun:

1. Jeanette Jenkins, the hot chic in the middle was my trainer for years. I'm talking 3 times a week stylie.  I worship and adore her.  She kicked my ass.  It hurt.  I love her.  And for that I'll give her PR props, blindfolded.

2. Just look at the FONT of the word "Workout."  I mean, c'mon.

3. I'm somewhat obsessed with Tara Stiles' body.

4.  The other chics are hot.

5. I am so super jazzed about this collection and it makes me happy looking at the box.  I was a devout Ms. Fonda aerobisizer (how on earth do you spell that? too lazy too google it)  in the 80's. And I even spent the summer with her once.  But that's another story.

6. Now, I will get my leg-warmers out and see if it's all that and get back to you.

In the meantime, here's the PR shizzy about it:

THE SET INCLUDES 3 WORKOUT DVDS:

Bob Harper is HOT.

March 1, 2011

And his bod is ridic.

Here are some of Bob's tips from the Jan/Feb issue of Women's Health Mag.

Just a little pick me up on your Tuesday afty.

XO

1.       Practice the sun salutation.  This isn’t just for yogis—it’s a total-body move that strengthens every inch of you.  Do them fast to raise your heart rate.

2.       Work in intervals.  For the fastest and best results, add bursts of springs into a slow run.  Try this on your next jog: after a five-minute war-up, dial up your speed to n effort of about eight or nine (out of 10) for 30 seconds; then slow down to an effort of three and recover for up to three minutes.  Your goal: Work up to seven sprints in a half-hour run.

3.       Fill up on fewer calories.  I like these wheat-germ crackers called Bran Crispbread.  Each has 12 calories, no fat, and five grams of fiber.  Add a bit of hummus and you can have a plateful.  (I HAVE BEEN ON THESE FOR YEARS, BTW…I POUR – YES POUR- I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BUTTER ON THEM, OR FAT FREE CREAM CHEESE)

4.       Get some shut-eye.  People who get enough sleep make better choices and have more successful weight loss. Recovery time is essential, so make it a priority.
