The Art of Sexual Wellness With Sex And Good

March 25, 2021

Our dearest Robin Levine of Charlotte’s Book, (which is the way cooler, smarter and more bad-ass big sister to GLA!) created this article for us to share some insight and circle back to her new line of women’s sexual wellness supplements we are over the moon over – Sex And Good.

I truly believe that your sexual health and hormone wellbeing is just as important to maintain as other parts of our health. We take vitamin C, zinc, and a whole host of other supplements as part of our daily health routine – but what about our sexual health routine? Why aren’t we prioritizing that? It’s one of the easiest ways to relieve stress, improve sleep, and improve your overall happiness.

According to the CDC, sexual health is defined as “a state of physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being in relation to sexuality.” Health expert Samantha Blakney explains, “it is often assumed to be the lack of disease and dysfunction, but it’s so much more than that. It’s actually a positive and attentive approach to your sexuality and the sexual relationship(s) in your life.”

Other than the acts of sex itself (which Samantha explains can be so powerful that studies say it can even treat migraines!), creating sexual health involves having your body, physically and mentally, operating at its optimum hormone health and libido levels.

Women’s health advocate Carole Radziwill believes “Sexual wellness should be a woman’s top priority. It impacts everything in her life – from sexual vitality to mood to aging. Healthy libidos and sex hormones play an important role in maintaining not only sexual health, it also impacts skin aging, as well as brain and bone health.”

We spend so much time on all of our beauty routines from eye creams to serums, but ignore the core of our female health? What about feeling good sexually?

Sam Blakeney explains, “the right combination of omega-3s is necessary for hormonal balance in women. She recommends taking the Sex and Good ‘oh-mega’ yummy gummy because this specialty blend of omega-3 essentials — a mix of omega 3-6-9 (Alpha-Linolenic Acid, Linoleic Acid, and Oleic Acid) — will specifically:

  • Raise dopamine levels in your brain to trigger arousal
  • Increase female lubrication
  • Improve circulation and feelings of sensation by fighting plaque in the arteries

Who doesn’t want to feel happier, have a better sex life, sleep better, and be less stressed? But we often ignore this basic part of our wellness because our own sexual wellbeing is quickly put to the wayside – everything else seems to take priority because sexual wellness is almost perceived as either taboo (we don’t want to talk about it), or it’s just assumed that as we get older, this is less and less a part of our lives. When in fact, this is when we should be prioritizing it even more.

Talk to your partner with the Sex and Good Journal (or even journal yourself), supplement with the right routine, and start taking control of your own sexual health and wellness.
